DJIA: The Dow Jones Industrial Average has been beaten badly the past couple of weeks. It all started with the break of support (Line 1) last May 21, 2008(Point A). Since then, the index has been trending lower and pretty much established a significant short-term down trend line (Line 2). The index tried to break free from this trend last June 17, 2008 but was a failure (Point B). To make matters worse, last Friday's performance broke support (Point C). |

Brunswick Corporation (Stock Symbol: BC) is very famous for manufacturing the best billiard and bowling equipments in the world. However, I was also surprised to discover that they are also involved in the construction of boats, marine engines, and fitness equipments. When stocks are down, Gold is another alternative investment that may give you substantial returns. Gold is one of the most precious metals in the world and is highly fungible because of its monetary value. It has been used for ornamentation or as a medium of exchange for centuries even dating back to prehistoric times.
The mining industry and mining stocks in general greatly benefit when the price of Gold moves strongly. Gold has been rallying recently, thus it may be wise to consider companies that mine and produce this precious metal and see if there are good opportunities. |

The US Housing Industry has been showing signs of life. It is experiencing a consolidation phase that may serve as the bottom as well. As previously mentioned in my recent article about the Real Estate Sector, it is still still too early to tell whether the housing market has already bottomed. This article on the US Home Builders Sector is a follow up to that prevous article.
The direct correlation between the US Real Estate Sector and the US Home Builders Sector is very valuable. As real estate sales increase, home builders activity would follow suit. Thus, analyzing the housing industry entails studying holistically both sectors. So let us try to analyze the Home Builders Sector and see if we can find any confirmation with the Real Estate Sector. |

Oil closed at $113.79 per barrel yesterday at the New York Mercantile Exchange and even rose to an all time high of $114.53 per barrel during yesterday's intraday trade. One of our editors wrote a study on this industry last month. This article is a follow up to that.
For the past few months now, oil has been soaring to new record highs. The question on when this will go down is on everyone's mind, but we can still find opportunities in this sector. |
